The opening reception for the exhibit “Create, Connect, Resist” will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 14, at the Ellen Firme Gallery, 92 W US 12, Beverly Shores.
The Resistance Artists of America have created work that challenges oppressive systems, amplifies marginalized voices, and supports democratic values through art. “Art is a powerful tool for truth-telling and transformation,” said Jane Cowley, a member of the group.
Exhibiting artists include Nancy Natow Cassidy, Geoff Bevington, Teresina Pavel, Suzy Vance, Ginny Scott, Laura Cooke Kittle, Matthew Kowalski, Carol Esto, Lorena Salinas, Dorothy Graden, Edwin Shelton, Jane Cowley, and Kerri Momsser.
