Poets from across Chicagoland will come together at Pilsen Community Books to uplift the work of visionary Jayne Cortez and the release of Firespitter: The Collected Poems of Jayne Cortez . Poet, performing artist, publisher, and activist, Cortez remains widely celebrated for her political, surrealist, and dynamic innovations in language, lyricism, and visceral sound.
Exhibit B and Nightboat Books are hosting a night that will feature performances from Faylita Hicks, Cai Sherley, Elizabeth Marino, Patrick Durgin, and Joseph Spece.
