A sound carried over the lake recalls the measured path it took to arrive.
Dawn Chorus reflects on barriers crossed; structures that protect and ones that displace; mechanisms that connect what is hidden to what is seen. The artists each respond to instances of displacement and disappearance within the city and offer a collective sound that carries forward.
Layan Attari (b. Kuwait) is a Palestinian artist who seeks to understand how meaning is preserved, passed on and transformed within the nation-state.
an emard (b. Ventura, CA) is an interdisciplinary artist seeking to locate the myth-making and world-building potentials of queerness.
Katie Revilla (b. San Francisco, CA) is an artist who combines personal narrative, magical realism and the proximity of specific events to translate installation and performance based work.
