Nature became my motivation when I returned to painting. I seek out images that are interconnected and in various stages of life and devastation. Enlarging, reconstructing and decontextualizing the chaos I perceive enables my memories and feelings to surface. I enjoy working with pastels for their purity and tactile qualities. Watercolors require me to be in the moment, go with the flow and embrace the unexpected. The process is a means of catharsis and self-discovery.
