The Black Girlhood Altar-Making Workshop, on Sunday, February 2 from 1-3 PM (CST), is an empowering experience designed to teach participants the art of creating personal altars. Attendees will receive spiritual tools to foster their sacred practices at home, ensuring the continuation of their spiritual and healing journey beyond the workshop. Additionally, the workshop presents an opportunity for participants to contribute objects to the collective Black Girlhood Altar project, an ongoing artwork to honor the lives of Black women and girls who have gone missing or been murdered. The workshop is led by artist and co-founder Scheherazade Tillet, along with leaders from A Long Walk Home.

*The workshop is free, but space is limited, and RSVPs are required*
To sign up for the workshop, please email artinfo@LubeznikCenter.org.

This workshop is supported by the Arts Midwest GIG Fund, a program of Arts Midwest that is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from Indiana Arts Commission.

“Healers and Dreamers,” curated by Whitney Bradshaw, is sponsored by Lynn and Allen Turner.
