This fall, ALL are welcome to join us for the 6th Annual Chicago Printers Guild Publishers Fair under the Tiffany Dome at the Chicago Cultural Center on Saturday, October 12th, 2024.
Showcasing an array of prints, zines, publications, posters, artist books, and just about anything we can print on – the Chicago Publishers Fair is a one-day exhibition and sale featuring the work of the contemporary midwest print scene.
Why?
The Annual Publishers Fair is a visual survey of contemporary print in the city of Chicago. Recognizing the role of printmaking in the history of Chicago’s economy, community advocacy initiatives, radical political movements, countercultural musical scenes, and so much more – the Annual Publishers Fair pays homage to these histories by continuing the print legacy in Chicago through practice and conversation. Chicago Printers Guild is a community of people who convene regularly at various print archives, print shops, and public events to share the history of print and the culture of contemporary printmaking practices.
Through group exhibitions, public programing, and private collection tours, Chicago Printers Guild members value printmaking not only as a communication tool but as a method for community building. Come visit!
