Foraged Forms
@ Tiny Table Gallery at Watershed Art & Ecology
1821 S Racine Ave, Chicago, IL 60608
Opening Saturday, September 28th, from 2PM - 4PM
Mark your calendars for our next one-afternoon-only exhibition, Foraged Forms, on September 28th!
We are trilled (🐦⬛) to present this show with Watershed Art and Ecology and hope you join us for the afternoon in this beautiful space 🐍🪲🌿
Foraged Forms considers mimicry as an adaptation tool used by animals, plants, and other creatures, as well as an avenue for learning about the world and others. We see mimicry as evidence of an affective ecology and, in this exhibition, present a range of artistic engagements with the concept, from those that are naturally occurring to new technologies attempting to simulate human thought and behavior.
Work by Jenny Kendler, Jonathan Lanier, Mariana Norena G., Betsy Odom and Mac Pierece
While these artists work across a range of mediums, the works featured in this show take inspiration from our environmental, social, and technological landscape to enable a rapprochement of seemingly distinct beings.
Our one-afternoon-only pop-up exhibition will take place at Watershed Art & Ecology during the closing day for A. Laurie Palmer’s exhibition Soulstorm—make sure you check out that work while you’re there!
Given that Watershed’s programming centers the entanglements of our human and more than human relationships, we couldn’t think of a better space to show Foraged Forms.
