The Evanston Art Center (EAC) is excited to welcome the public to our upcoming exhibition, black and white. The exhibition will be on display from September 14 – October 6, 2024, and will be free and open to the public.
Chicago-based artist/muralist/Brand owner; Trotter Alexander creates bodies of work representing an introspective of his state of mind, racial identity, insanity, socio-political issues, and his personal inspirations – insinuating a fresher artistic perspective on these topics for an audience to consume. This exhibit will feature Alexander’s latest “Pink Series” which is an explorative exposé on the artist’s emotional/romantic internalizations, presented through abstract expression.
Michele Thrane is primarily a printmaker and mixed media artist. In her current work, she uses pigmented beeswax on a specialized heated aluminum plate to create her encaustic monotypes. All of Thrane’s work in this exhibit is created using encaustic paint, and her work is also influenced by science. Her imaginary visions reflect my perceptions of far away galaxies, and the search for what is beyond what the eye can see.
