Back In Da Hood: History of Hip Hop Dance with Book Author Gringo | Hip Hop Dance Demo with Cari
Jose Echevarria is known as Gringo. Born and raised in Chicago, he was leader of choreography for the Allstar Dancers from back in the day. After many years of dance, he wrote The Real Dance Fever Books, available on Amazonkindle.com. In 2019, the books were adapted into a Dancsical play, written by Miranda Gonzalez, directed by Raquel Torre González, and produced by Urban Theater Company of Chicago.

Renegades of Funk (ROF) is a Chicago based nonprofit Hip Hop organization that embraces the diversity and inclusiveness inherent in Hip Hop culture. ROF’s mission is to preserve history, teach, elevate, and empower communities by motivating artists and young individuals to reinforce grassroots initiatives promoting social justice, community involvement, educational initiatives, collaborative networking, and global outreach.
