The Future of Literary Stewardship
@ Colvin House
5940 N Sheridan Rd, Chicago, IL 60660
Opening Thursday, March 7th, from 6:30PM - 9PM
What is literary stewardship/literary community, and how is it currently practiced in Chicago? How do we as individuals, organizations, and communities intentionally engage in building spaces and opportunities for literary folks to learn, grow, create, feel accepted, mentor, be mentored, share, and succeed in the literary arts? And in a time when the world is full of pain and struggles, and arts organizations are struggling to stay alive, how do we support one another in continuing this work? How do we support the larger literary ecosystem?
Co-hosted by Artists Book House and StoryStudio Chicago, with Audrey Niffenegger as moderator, this panel invites diverse writers and literary makers to share their visions of what literary leadership looks like in Chicago and, importantly, what it could become. Panelists will be encouraged to speak to what their organization is currently doing as leaders in the city, and offer collaborative avenues to reach more literary lovers looking to participate.
