Max Guy & Gareth Kaye: In Discussion
@ Good Weather
1524 S Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60608
Opening Saturday, March 23rd, at 12PM
This Saturday March 23, don’t miss Max Guy live in conversation with Chicago Spleen (critic and exhibition maker Gareth Kaye) at Good Weather. Starting at noon, Max and Spleen will definitively reach a conclusion as to what Max’s practice is, exploring the many routes that have lead up to producing his current exhibition at Good Weather “Running from one time”, including, but not limited to: Guy’s 20 year history of exhibiting in Chicago; the pragmatism of Belgian Surrealists; the Japanese Red Army Faction; dramaturgy; what fashion does to art, but not what art does to fashion; his first trip to the Arts Club of Chicago when he was four, and his subsequent attempts at pissing into a Supersoaker shortly thereafter. Following the conversation, Max will be retreating from the public eye for no less than five years.
