Between each breath is a space reserved for the absence of colour – a respite from distractions. Colour is an obstacle that diverts me from acknowledging my vulnerabilities yet static shadows and obstructions to light strip bare the answers to my questions. Blurring the line between swaths of shadows and opaque objects gives birth to new shadows and grounds my understanding of where my past collides with the present.
