Culture of Care with Jamila Kinney: Environments of Care
@ Threewalls
Online
Opening Wednesday, January 31st, from 12PM - 1PM
Join us for Jamila’s second Culture of Care: Environments of Care
ENVIRONMENTS OF CARE
Environments of Care, facilitated by Jamila Keulah Kinney, will engage the senses through contemplative movement practices to redefine our needs for care.
During our time together , Jamila asks that you have a few items with you. Something soft e.g. a blanket/ pillow. Something fragrant that evokes support/groundedness/confort and something you can taste, e.g. your favorite tea/ a piece of fruit/chocolate.
Jamila Kekulah Kinney (they) are ever evolving in this space time continuum. Jamila is the creator of The Moving Soul, a holistic somatic movement practice that bridges the gap between soma, psyche and soul. They cultivate practices of awareness, sensing and feeling the potency of the bodymind connection.
As a movement artist, Jamila creates performances rooted in spirit, exploring the inner landscape of self, others, and nature. They are currently a CO-MISSION artist in residence at Linkshall. It is their mission to guide folks into relationship with themselves and to be at home in their body. They envisions a world where folks live, love, and relate with each other from an embodied and mindful place.

ABOUT CULTURE OF CARE
Culture of Care returns in 2024 for another season of workshops and space for exchange during which we come together to share, rest, and reflect on what it means to shape a culture that embraces our humanity.
During Culture of Care, folks are invited to participate in and/or witness the practices of local creatives who will share skills, hold space for reflection, and offer healing. In the sessions we will individually develop our personal definitions of self-care and what it looks like within our communities.
This year’s facilitators were asked to think about “relationships” and have a full season of offerings that will explore our connections to ourselves, those around us, and our communities. These offerings will include a total of six workshops that span somatic movement, storytelling, archiving, and spiritual healing modalities.
