Tuan Andrew Nguyen Screening
@ The Gene Siskel Film Center
164 N State St, Chicago, IL 60601
Opening Wednesday, November 1st, from 6PM - 7:30PM
Join us for a screening of two films by visiting artist Tuan Andrew Nguyen in advance of his public lecture on November 7. Ticketing information forthcoming at siskelfilmcenter.org/.
Tuan Andrew Nguyen’s work explores the power of storytelling through video and sculpture. His projects are based on extensive research and community engagement, tapping into inherited histories and counter-memory. Nguyen extracts and reworks dominant, oftentimes colonial histories and supernaturalisms into imaginative vignettes. Fact and fiction are interwoven in poetic narratives that span time and place. Nguyen is a founding member of The Propeller Group, an entity that positions itself between a fake advertising company and an art collective.
The Gene Siskel Film Center is fully ADA accessible. Theaters are hearing-loop equipped. For other accessibility requests, visit saic.edu/access.
