Orkideh Torabi: Orkideh’s Comical Character Parade

As part of her residency at the UM-Ann Arbor Institute for the Humanities, Orkideh Torabi will be making a special visit to UM-Dearborn to give a talk about her artistic practice, the importance of storytelling in her work, and how she draws from her Iranian heritage to explore themes of cultural identity, diaspora, and the tension between tradition and modernity. The talk will be followed by a reception with complimentary refreshments and appetizers and the opportunity to talk to the artist and view a small display of her original work.
