Mae Lombardi is pleased to announce 𝘖𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘢, presenting a selection of paintings and sculptures by Ohio born artist Taylor Augustine and Wisconsin born artist Kay Hofmann.
Working from her background as a florist, Taylor Augustine’s paintings are based on documentation of her own floral arrangements. Augustine’s style is characterized by its straightforward and realistic use of soft colors. Each painting pays homage to the impermanent nature of her floral arrangements.
Showcasing Kay Hofmann’s nearly seven-decade career, these hand-carved and meticulously finished sculptures reveal her profound connection with the inherent qualities of the stones she uses. Hofmann’s diverse materials range from African Black Stone, Marble, to White and Pink Alabaster, some tucked away in her garage for years, others sourced from quarries in Italy and Zimbabwe, and a few cherished remnants passed down from her father, who was a memorial mason.
