Ruin & Revival by Amria Hegazy opens this Saturday, September 23rd – the Autumn Equinox. It will be open for viewing the following Sunday afternoons: September 24th, October 1st, and October 8th.
Hybrid gallery hours are Sundays from 12-5pm CDT. The work is live streamed on Twitch, and we are also open for in-person visits by appointment. Amira Hegazy is a multimedia artist working between drawing, printmaking, publishing, and scholarly media.
Hegazy currently lives in Chicago, Illinois where she teaches at Columbia College Chicago. She is a research fellow at the Design Museum of Chicago focusing on design history and the typography of Chicago. Hegazy is a native of Milford, Michigan where she grew up between traditional American and Egyptian cultures. Hegazy’s experiences navigating between identities, places, and cultures informs much of her work.
