Tuesdays on the Terrace | Rajiv Halim
@ Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago
220 E Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60611
Opening Tuesday, August 29th, from 5:30PM - 8PM
Summer Tuesdays come alive on the MCA terrace with free concerts highlighting artists from Chicago’s internationally renowned music community. Enjoy live music while relaxing on the lawn with your own picnic, or savor snacks and drinks available for purchase. Then head inside to catch the MCA’s summer exhibitions—we’re open late on Tuesdays and free for Illinois residents.
2023 marks the centennial anniversary of jazz legend Dexter Gordon’s birth, and, as many Chicago jazz enthusiasts know, August 29 is jazz giant Charlie Parker’s birthday. In celebration of these prodigious saxophonists, we close our Tuesdays on the Terrace series with renowned Chicago composer and saxophone player, Rajiv Halim, who makes his MCA terrace debut. Halim play two sets that feature beloved songs from Gordon and Parker, as well as his original music.
