How would you describe an individual using only images, shapes, and color? Inspired by the vibrant textile portraits created by contemporary artist Gio Swaby, participants are invited to make their own collaged portraits combining textures, patterns, and colors to celebrate the identities of their chosen subject. This program is led by artist and educator Danielle Wright.
Saturday Studio is an art-making experience in the galleries led by Chicago-based artists that welcomes participants of all experience levels. The program is free with admission, and all materials are provided.
If you have any questions about programming, please reach out to museum-programs@artic.edu. For questions related to accessibility accommodations, please email access@artic.edu.
