Join us for an evening of reframings, reflections, and experiments with the in between. Edgar Jorge Baralt and Christina C Nguyen will screen short works and film sketches digitally and on 16mm.

The program will be roughly 1 hour long and includes flicker that may effect photosensitive viewers.

Edgar Jorge Baralt
Edgar Jorge Baralt (b. 1988, he/him) is a Venezuelan-born filmmaker based in Chicago, whose personal work tackles questions of memory and temporality. He obtained an MFA in Film and Video from the California Institute of the Arts. His work has been programmed at different international venues and festivals, including the Berlinale, LA Filmforum, Chicago Underground Film Festival, Kasseler Dokfest, Bucharest International Experimental Film Festival, among others. His films attempt to destabilize rigid ways of understanding identity, perception, and landscape.

Christina C Nguyen
Christina C Nguyen (she/her/hers) is a filmmaker and expanded cinema artist exploring the periphery of human perception and experience. Her interest in systems results in the use of specific forms and structures to interface between the digital and analog methods of data and vision. She has worked in production and post-production sound in experimental cinema and documentary. Films featuring her sound work have screened at Berlinale, Viennale, International Film Festival Rotterdam, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, New York Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, San Sebastian Film Festival, among others. Her films are distributed by Canyon Cinema. She is from San Francisco, California, earned her MFA in Film and Video at the California Institute of the Arts, and currently teaches at Northwestern University in Radio/Television/Film.
