Join us for a screening of short documentary film A Love Letter to Chicago, rooted in deejay culture and traditions of spacemaking featuring performances of Chicago artists. This performance documentation is an abbreviation of Sadie Woods’ Afrodjia Social Club deejay set exploring music and culture of the Americas and global south originally performed with a 14-piece orchestra at Millennium Park in summer of 2021.
DJ set performed by Sadie Woods, featuring vocalists Isa Starr, Meagan McNeal, Illuminati Congo and string trio Edith Yokley, Karla Galva and Kelsee Vandervall.
A Love Letter to Chicago was co-produced in partnership with Daniel Crane of Story7 and presented by the Mission Diversity Project produced by Music Innovation Hub Perseo SpA Impresa Sociale, Milano MI, Italy. Filmed by Impakt Studios. Sound recording and engineering by Raymond Rogers.
