Vibrant colors, bold contrast, and diverse patterns are hallmarks of Raúl Ortiz’s work. His painting practice is heavily influenced by years of printmaking, creating abstract compositions through layering, repeating, and refining images and marks. Born and raised in Mexico, Ortiz moved to Chicago as a child where he still lives and works.
