Belong Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Sarah Leuchtner: Midnight Mirage. The opening reception will be held on Friday, November 18, from 7-10 PM, and the exhibition will be on view until 1/7.
Midnight Mirage is a new body of work by Chicago-based artist Sarah Leuchtner. Utilizing varying interpretations of the grid, and her symbolic vocabulary of imagined and found shapes, Leuchtner embraces the characteristics of urban life and evening work hours as medium. Artificial lighting, cast shadows, high contrast, and varying values of sunset blue become integral elements to the work. For Leuchtner, the dynamics between tactile texture and layers of extreme flatness contrast one another across these paintings, collages and sculptures.
