“Tunnels” is an exhibition of artwork by JJ McLuckie, a queer and mad Chicago based artist. JJ is best known for their murals around Chicago and their Zines at Quimby’s. A graduate of Columbia College Chicago, JJ has been making innovative work which explores themes of eroticism, the complexity of human psychology, and their own lived experience. The work for “Tunnels” specifically addresses madness as a part of the process of making.
The exhibition opening – Friday October 14th from 5-9pm – will be accompanied by a “Mad Tea Party” – an open mic event meant to share the poetry/spoken word creations of mad folx. The event is open to all with a captioning service available during the event. Signups for the open mic will begin at 5 with the readings beginning at 6pm.
