The American Society of Personally Questioning Political Questions: Public Conversation
@ Weinberg Newton Gallery
688 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60642
Opening Friday, September 16th, from 6PM - 8PM
On view through Saturday, October 1st
Exhibiting artist Ariana Jacob will facilitate a group conversation about how we can face the growing political divide in this country. How can we get personal with the political conflict in our country in ways that are curious and engaged? This small group discussion will invite people to reflect on their own experience of our increasingly strained democracy, provide prompts for how to be with and learn from conflict, and open space for wondering about new political possibilities.

All that Glows in the Dark of Democracy
Alejandro T. Acierto, Kandis Friesen, Hannah Givler, Aram Han Sifuentes, Ariana Jacob, Aay Preston-Myint
Presented in collaboration with the ACLU of Illinois, this exhibition will kick off the organization’s Engagement Series on Democracy: We the People, an effort to counter the “us versus them” mentality that has permeated the current political climate by asking: Do not tell us what you are against; tell us what you are for.
