Multidisciplinary Chicago artist Sam Kirk takes us on a walking tour of Pilsen’s beautiful murals—including some of her own celebrated work, which employs public spaces to spark dialogue about equity and visibility for women, communities of color, and LGBTQIA folks. Anyone who loves this city and its neighborhoods, join Chicago Humanities Festival and Kirk for a visual history of how public art helps preserve and shape the narrative of our communities.

This program is presented as part of Art Design Chicago Now, an initiative funded by the Terra Foundation for American Art that amplifies the voices of Chicago’s diverse creatives, past and present, and explores the essential role they play in shaping the now.
