Outdoor murals have a long history in Chicago, often reflecting on specific time periods and movements in the communities which they adorn. Join Chicago Collections Consortium ED Jeanne Long in her conversation with Chicago artists Meg Duguid and Bernard Williams as they share the influences, advantages, and challenges that are involved in the creation of murals in our city today.
Meg Duguid is an artist and arts administrator who currently serves as Chief Curator of the Wabash Arts Corridor and as Director of Exhibitions for Columbia College Chicago’s Department of Exhibits, Performances, and Student Spaces.
Bernard Williams is an artist, educator, and Board President of the Chicago Public Art Group.
This event is presented as part of Art Design Chicago Now, an initiative funded by the Terra Foundation for American Art that amplifies the voices of Chicago’s diverse creatives, past and present, and explores the essential role they play in shaping the now.
