Join Art on theMART Thursday, May 5, at 8:45 p.m. for the premiere of Ba Boom Boom Pa Pop Pop by Nick Cave.
Ba Boom Boom Pa Pop Pop is a new projection made specifically for Art on theMART by acclaimed American artist Nick Cave. Bridging dance, performance, film and public art, Ba Boom Boom Pa Pop Pop features Cave’s iconic Soundsuits in motion. Brightly colored figures will dance across theMART’s iconic riverside façade, transporting the viewer to a kaleidoscopic otherworld on the river’s edge. Amidst the flurry of movement, a figure adorned with a stop-sign emerges, reminding viewers of the underlying sense of urgency despite the jubilant expression of freedom.
Nick Cave’s projection will be a part of Art on theMART’s Summer 2022 programming and will be shown twice nightly at 8:30 and 9 p.m. from May 5 through September 7. This event is free and open to the public and can best be experienced from the jetty section of the Chicago Riverwalk on Wacker Drive between Wells Street and Franklin Street where accompanying audio can be experienced.
