Opening Tuesday, May 24th, from 6PM - 7PM
Did you attend Latitude events when the organization was still at the Carroll Building? Ever wonder what the early days of Latitude were like? On Tuesday, May 24th one of our founding board members Jennifer Keats will share a slideshow of photos from 2012-2014 featuring events, artists in residence, and life around the lab.
About Jennifer Keats:
Jennifer Keats has worked as both an educator and facilitator in Chicago for the last 20+ years. Focused on creating spaces of collective learning and fostering collaborative community interactions.
After receiving her MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago Jennifer joined the department as a staff in 2002 eventually going on to manage their Digital Imaging Facilities until 2015. During her time there she was responsible for implementing and overseeing the Photography Department’s first Digital Artist in Residence Program in 2012 hosting artists such as Stephen Eichhorn, Sonja Thomsen and Daniel Shea.
She currently oversees the Service Bureau, The School of the Art Institute’s digital output center specializing in risograph printing, bookbinding and wide format inkjet and latex printing.
Her personal project, The Donut Shop, functions as an independent curatorial publishing practice collaborating with makers to publish and distribute small editions – creating an avenue for all kinds of makers to push their practice through book production.
