This coming Thursday, May 21st from 6PM — 9PM, we will be welcoming Fawn Penn of The Digs Chicago for a live pottery session! She will be doing live throwing to give our guests a look into how pottery is made!
Fawn Penn is a ceramic artist and co-founder of The Digs Chicago. By day, Fawn can be found running around the Digs, carving intricate ceramic plates, and loading kilns. By night, Fawn teaches Beginner Throwing Classes and Workshops. Fawn worked as a studio technician during their time at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago majoring in ceramics.
The Digs Chicago is a ceramic studio and event space that acts to fill a supportive role for Chicagoland artists. We believe that art-making and learning can be accessed and fostered outside of traditional institutional structures through self-representation. The Digs community is dedicated to the circulation of knowledge and connection through the support of the individual practice.
