LOCUS celebrates its 9th iteration with 20 artists in our final exhibition of 2021!
LOCUS is a quarterly gallery show and micro-grant program combining visual & literary artists in an anonymous pairing creative conversation. On December 10th + 11th come to The Martin to see the result of anonymous creation for these twelve pairings, witness artists meet each other for the first time and hear about their process in an artist talk led by LOCUS Founder & Curator, Whitney LaMora.
Five pairs of artists will be featured each evening in the artist talk series – specific artists & their nights to be announced closer to the event to keep anonymity!
All guests will be required to be masked and prove vaccination at the door. For any guests 21+ a card-only bar will be available. The Martin & Split-Rail are ADA accessible- if you have any questions on accessibility please don’t hesitate to reach out.
A virtual build of the exhibition will be available for any guest unable to attend in person – launching December 10th!
Donations collected for the show will go toward the future of the LOCUS project as well as our community partner for this exhibition, WITS Chicago! WITS sets students on a trajectory for success by building critical literacy skills and developing positive self-identity through teacher led professional development and volunteer powered mentorship programs.
