Chicago Textile Week presents “Deep, Far, Home,” a group exhibition of textile and multimedia artists with ties to the city. These contemporary artists’ works explore crisscrossing themes of deep time, primordial chaos, cosmic distance and personal intimacy. Participating artists include Lucia Calderon Arrieta, Justin Chance, Diana Gabriel, Caroline Lee Liu, Olive Stefanski and Vanessa Viruet. Curated by John Harness, formerly of The Condo Association.
Currently, an in-person opening reception is scheduled for the evening of September 18th, 2021. Please check our website for scheduling changes that may occur due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. To attend the reception for this exhibition, please register and reserve your free spot at our website.
Presented in conjunction with “Deep, Far, Home,” dancer and artist Irene Hsiao will perform a new work inspired by the show on Friday, Sept. 24. Registration for this free event can also be found at our website.
Additionally, samples of new upholstery designs by winners of the 2021 Chicago Textile Week Design Call will be on display throughout the exhibition.
