It is our great pleasure to invite you to There you were, and then you were there more, an exhibition featuring recent work by Elnaz Javani.
Elnaz Javani is an artist and educator currently residing in Chicago. She works between the media of textiles, drawing and print. Her practice revolves around the fragmentation of identity and place, power dynamics and labor. She holds an M.F.A in Fiber and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she was the recipient of the New Artist Society Merit Scholarship, and B.F.A from Tehran University of Art. She was a recipient of the 2019 Define American Art Fellowship Grant, the 2019- 2020 Kala Art institute Fellowship award and the 2019 Hyde Park Art Center Flex Space Residency award. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally in the USA, Spain, Iran, France, Colombia, Turkey, UAE, Germany and Switzerland.
The show is from June 17th to July 16th with the opening reception on Thursday, June 16th, 6-9 PM.
