Dushko Petrovich will discuss a series of screenshot paintings he has been making during the pandemic. After pulling these photographs, maps, and graphs from the flux of his online experience, Pertrovich decided to translate them into paintings—in hopes that the shifts in physicality, scale, and means of circulation would give them a second, more reflective existence. Petrovich will discuss this in-progress body of work in relation to his previous painting projects and his publishing practice. Dushko Petrovich is a co-founder of Paper Monument, where he has published numerous critically acclaimed and bestselling books, including Draw It with Your Eyes Closed: The Art of the Art Assignment; Social Medium: Artists Writing 2000-2015; and As Radical, as Mother, as Salad, as Shelter: What Should Art Institutions Do Now? Petrovich currently chairs the New Arts Journalism department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

This program is generously supported by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
