In conjunction with the exhibition Wig Heavier Than a Boot, join current Filter Space exhibiting artist Philip Matthews for a lunchtime reading alongside poet Aricka Foreman and novelist Amanda Goldblatt. Aricka Foreman is an American poet and interdisciplinary writer from Detroit MI. Author of the chapbook Dream with a Glass Chamber, and Salt Body Shimmer (YesYes Books), she has received fellowships from Cave Canem, Callaloo, and the Millay Colony for the Arts. She serves on the Board of Directors for The Offing, and spends her time in Chicago, IL engaging poetry with photography & video.
Amanda Goldblatt is the author of the novel Hard Mouth (Counterpoint Press, 2019). She lives in Chicago.
Philip Matthews is the author of Witch (Alice James Books, 2020) and Wig Heavier Than a Boot (Kris Graves Projects, 2019), a collaboration with photographer David Johnson. A poet from eastern North Carolina, he currently resides in rural Sauk County, Wisconsin. Up to this point, his practice has been anchored by site-specific meditation and performance: he is curious about what happens next.
