We are a group of community organizers, activists and volunteers on a community art project “Design Your Vote”, with the objective of energizing Illinoisans to vote safely in the November 2020 election.
We are committed to safeguarding the right to vote, combating voter suppression and reaching disenfranchised and underrepresented communities. We also hope to promote Voting by Mail as one strategy to protect ourselves and our families during the COVID-19 crisis.
Our website provides a full explanation of this fun and free project and how it will work.
All ages and abilities welcome. The deadline for online submissions is October 14, 2020. The resulting composite image will be posted on our website and on our Facebook and Instagram pages in the days leading up to the November election. After that we will be looking for an institution or organization to house our digital art work so that it can be a testimony to how we all survived the challenges of this time in history.
