The exhibition is designed to be viewable from the street during all hours, and especially glowing during the darkness. FlexSpace offers the exhibit as a form of healing; a turn toward luminescence and repair. During this unique time when each of us is called upon to be both self-protecting and altruistic, maintaining active lives within quarantine, this show provides two unique visions of the potential for hopefulness within the dark.
Mayumi Lake’s “Radiant Frisson features colorful, spirited photographic collage sculptures within a bedazzling installation of light.
Stacia Yeapanis updates her 2012 collage of TV show clips “Solace Supercut,” evoking twinned experiences of isolation and empathy. During the run of the window installation, Yeapanis will also remote-screen “Stay Where You Are!” a brand new remix video about the wide range of emotional responses to quarantine.
