Parlor Room and the Photography Department welcome renowned photographer, Mark Steinmetz to SAIC for a lecture on his work spanning several decades.

Working exclusively in black and white and mostly dealing with American subjects, Steinmetz received his MFA in photography from Yale University and is a recipient of a 1994 Guggenheim Fellowship. He has taught photography at Harvard University, Yale University, Sarah Lawrence College and Emory University. He has published several books with Nazraeli Press and Stanley Barker and his work is held in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, Hunter Museum of American Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, Museum of Modern Art, New York and Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
