In honor of Woman’s History Month, Gallery of Contemporary Mosaics is proud to present “Mi Familia”, an exhibition exploring the meaning and stories of our families told by several Chicago women artists. Their perspective examines lineage, maternity and family dynamics through original and mosaic artworks.
Work by Karen Ami, Etty Hasak, Casey Van Loon, Sarah Lewis, Angela Sanders, Martha Crandall, Laura Marie Sanchez, Carolynn Friedman, Lydia Shepard, Sue Coombs, Cara Sevec, Jelisa Davis, Ashley Samson, and Jessica Johnson
The various roles of these woman artists, through their roots, and connections reveal different ideas about what a family is and what ‘family’ means.
