Join us on Saturday March 14 from 11am-1pm for the release of our next collaboration with Cassie Tompkins! This event will coincide with the Opening Reception for Cassie’s solo show at Bloom Yoga Studio. Both of the editions we are producing for Cassie will be framed and displayed amidst her textile work. We will also have unframed prints available at the reception.

Cassie Tompkins is a Chicago-based artist and designer currently working between the media of printmaking and textiles. In 2001 she graduated with a BFA in photography from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and in 2010 received a BFA with a concentration in visual communication design from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Tompkins’s monoprints explore transcendent environments and capture ephemeral experiences. Using a language of geometric and organic shapes and the sensorial experience of color, she works as an improvisor, balancing compositions through intentional and serendipitous marks.

Halftone Projects is a second bedroom turned studio space in the Logan Square Neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois providing artists with the opportunity to collaborate on limited edition screenprints. The work is first made available to the public during a release event–sometimes at the two bedroom apartment where the work is produced, sometimes off-site to coincide with exhibition receptions and city wide events such as the Chicago Printers Guild Publishers Fair. After each event, the prints are listed for sale online. Halftone Projects aims to price all work affordably in order to encourage more people to invest in art. This project was founded by Victoria Marie Barquin, a Chicago-based Artist and Printmaker.
