Opening Saturday, January 25th, from 6PM - 10PM
Opening Reception for “The Sixth Great Extinction (SGE)”
By Rick Therrio
Australia is burning, Indonesia is sinking, the drums of war are beating and America is focused on Ariel Winter’s ass. But tragedy and absurdity have always been fuel for Therrio’s work. The Show explores the evolution of how the work began with nonsense and evolved into the SGE. From toys to paintings to paintings with toys and other chaos, together in one location, the remarkable space that is Harbor Works.
In addition, we will be treated to a scathing rant by Carla Winterbottom on the disasters befalling us and point at those who are culpable. Great and terrible things will be revealed.
And to keep us from losing our minds completely, we will also be treated the soothing ambient music of Doc C.
This promises to be a memorable evening. Join us.
