If you’re a Chicagoan, you’ve seen The Bear Champ. This golden fighter with quintessential red boxing gloves graces dozens of walls in nearly every neighborhood, inside local shops and venues, and even on slaps and stickers in surprising corners of the city. The Bear Champ character was created by artist JC Rivera over nine years ago and has become an icon in the street art community because he represents Chicago’s non-stop hustle and never-give-up attitude. Galerie F has worked with JC Rivera since the early stages of his career as an artist and both have shared a mutually inspiring relationship ever since.
This coming weekend Galerie F opens a very unique Bear Champ pop-up exhibition for three days only! Come get first dibs on these works opening night at the gallery on Friday, December 20 from 6-10PM. Alongside some classic large-scale pieces, this new collection of work from “Cloudy Days” will feature plenty of affordables, including limited edition prints, smaller illustrations and original sketches.
