Artist Interventions include:
Liz McCarthy: Whistle Hangout 150 clay whistles lie hidden around the Art Center. During the cocktail hour, guests are invited to find and keep one whistle. At 6:45pm all whistle players will process to from the cocktail hour to the dining room, playing their instruments in unison. 5:30-7:00PM
Kara Cobb Johnson: The Title Two stacks of cards, one “dirty” and one “clean”, provide the titles for your play dough sculpture. Interpretations of either conceptual or raunchy prompts or “Titles” spark conversation between participants. 8:30-10:30PM
Cecilia Iwata: 80th Birthday Cake A series of wall-mounted birthday cakes resembling organically formed, shale-like protrusions adorned with 80 candles create a simultaneously meditative and celebratory environment. 8:30-11:00PM
Juliann Wang: Every Moment is a Ritual Through Japanese tea practice, based on the principles of harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility, Juliann will create a space for connections with nature, each other, and ourselves 8:30-10:30PM
Dana Major: Eight Oh Dual light art installations transform Gallery 1 and parts of the 2nd floor with color washes and surprising light and shadow compositions that play with the building’s colors and architecture to both highlight the familiar and show the Art Center in a new light.
