LOCUS

@ The Martin

2515 W North Ave, Chicago, IL 60647

Opening Friday, September 27th, from 7PM - 10PM

On view through Monday, October 14th

After a successful standing room-only weekend of LOCUS’ debut this June, curator & Martin founder Whitney LaMora brings in 20 new visual & literary artists for a blind mashup of artistic expressions to see where interpretation syncs up and where it collides.

This time around we start with works from our literary artists that are then sent to our visual artist team sans title of work or author. Visual artists create brand new works from there based on, inspired by, or in response to the work they received. All artists meet and share their process, meaning behind the work, and feelings on this experiment the weekend of 9/27 & 9/28!

Each night we’ll feature 12 artists in 6 pairings, so both nights you’ll get unique works and discussions!

Can’t make the weekend? The artwork will stay up at The Martin through October 14th.
