The Hunting Accident : First Chapter: original artwork from the graphic novel.
Writer David L. Carlson and pen-and-ink artist Landis Blair’s creative collaboration ‘The Hunting Accident’ was named one of Publishers Weekly’s Best Books of 2017. Over 450 pages in length, it illustrates an epic tale of murder, poetry, and redemption based on true life events of Chicagoan Matt Rizzo, as told by his son, Charlie Rizzo. Original drawings, storyboards and concepts will be on display in addition to research materials and artifacts — exhibit curation by Aron Packer. Written by David L. Carlson, illustrated by Landis Blair.
Reception and conversation with the collaborators of this true tale of crime and poetry will be held on Saturday August 3, 2-6PM, and Wednesday September 11, 12-3PM.
Free and open to the public.
