PERSONA BY KATIE MEUSER
Persona is the way you present yourself to the world, the character traits you let show or choose to let show, and the way people perceive them.
Each figure is paired with a nonrepresentational painting to reflect the abstract side of the persona. The figure is symbolic to a more logical interpretation of one’s personality. This is how their personality is seen by others and how it may not be real or true. This grouping expresses: how we want people to see us, how we naturally project ourselves to others and how our character is understood by the onlookers.
People project emotions, which can be recreated with color. Each figure has a specific set of colors that expressed the model’s personality. It’s then recreated to form a nonrepresentational perspective. This is to give an alternative way to see the model and get a full understanding of their persona.
The colors complement the concept by mixing contrasting colors, representing contrasting personalities. Opposite colors become the most complimentary.
Persona is a series of work that asks the question “who are we?”
