Harry Kuttner (b. 1992 Chicago, IL) is a Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist. His recent sculptural work explores personal narratives and the trope of the American West as a masculine landscape, using forms that recall domestic vessels and the spaces they occupy. His hand-built clay sculptures appropriate both traditional ceramic and woven forms, as well as imagery and phrases from popular music. This work highlights the surface and physicality of clay, both in their form as well as their brightly colored surface decoration. He received his BS in Studio Art and Environmental Geology from Beloit College in 2014. He has exhibited work at Comfort Station and TUSK in Chicago, the Creative Alliance, PMF, and Baltimore Clayworks in Baltimore, and the Ski Club in Milwaukee. He was a member of the Potters Guild of Baltimore from 2017-2018 and in 2016 he co-curated Children of the Playhouse for Shoot the Lobster. His work is currently included in the ongoing, traveling exhibition Pocket Object (Chicago, LA, Philadelphia, Seattle).
