Sexy Clowns is an avant garde body of work that is, at once, both striking and haunting. The concept originates from Reisha’s desire to contrast societal beauty standards and sexuality with a familiar character viewed by many as comical and sometimes even grotesque. The exhibition to be displayed in Blanc Gallery was inspired by the models in Reisha’s debut publication, Sexy Clowns, released in 2012.
Sexy Clowns, is a collection of paintings that offer an intimate satire of female sexuality and its dependence on cosmetics and clothing to define desirability and womanhood.
Opening reception: Friday, March 08, 2019 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Closing Reception/ Artist Talk: Friday, March 29, 2019 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
