Columbia College Chicago will host the fourth annual Chicago Feminist Film Festival, February 27th-March 1st, 2019. This year’s opening night features the Chicago premiere of documentary Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blaché directed by Pamela B. Green. Be Natural follows director Green’s journey uncovering footage from archives all over the world paired with narration by Jodie Foster. Long-forgotten interview clips help retell Blaché’s history and consequently, the buried history of women in film. Be Natural is a testament to the continued gender inequity in the film industry.
Be Natural will screen for free on Wednesday February 27 at 6:30pm in Film Row Cinema, 1104 S Wabash. Director Pamela Green will be available for a post-screening talkback. This screening at the Chicago Feminist Film Festival is an opportunity to see the film before it is made available for theatrical release as well as to meet director Pamela Green.
