SAMIRA YAMIN (b. 1983 Evanston, IL) lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. Yamin received an MFA from University of California, Irvine, CA and a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles CA. She has had a solo exhibition at the Santa Monica Museum of Art, and has been included in numerous group exhibitions including at the Craft and Folk Art Museum, Los Angeles; the Camera Club of New York, New York, NY; Metropolitan State University in Denver, Denver, CO and San Francisco State University, San Francisco, CA. A recipient of grants from the Joan Mitchell Foundation and the California Community Foundation, Samira has been an Artist in Residence at the Rauschenberg Residency, Headlands Center for the Arts and the Djerassi Resident Artists Program.
